Academy Instructor Certificate Course (AICC)
40-Hour – IDI Level 1
- This is a mandated course; successful completion is required to teach in the POST Basic Academy
- All Level 1 courses are from 0800 to 1700 hours each day, unless otherwise advised
- It is recommended that all trainers entering the AICC take “Learners First” prior to attending the in-person class

AICC Attendance Policy
All POST IDI Level 1 students- PLEASE see the attached AICC Attendance Policy. The policy has become necessary as there has been a dramatic increase in studentsleaving classes early. A policy has become essential so we could act from a fundamentally fair baseline and all attendees clearly know what is expected.
This policy is for Level 1 only. It is important to note that this policy is applicable only to Napa Valley College AICC (sponsored) courses only (the logo in the first column of the course by-date/location announcement on the web site designates Napa Valley-sponsored course) . Other colleges (for example: Miramar) are not mandated to adhere to this policy.
- 40 hour AICC presenter: Napa Valley College
cadre (open enrollment - POST contract presenter IDI Level 1 and 2) - 40 hour AICC presenter: Los Angeles Police Department
limited outside agency spaces available - 40 hour AICC presenter: Miramar College
(open enrollment with split schedule- conducted in two sessions)
Napa Valley College presented courses (there is generally no tuition* and a number of books/pamphlets are furnished at no charge)
* Note: Some AICC sponsors may charge a small stipend to cover room and equipment rental when appropriate- check with the POC for details
