POST IDI Extranet

The extranet is a secure capability for storing and sharing information with individuals in the IDI program. Invitations are required to join. The extranet includes a contact list of IDI and staff personnel, a What's New" section, a file library (upload and download capability), a discussion area and Administrative functions. The administrative function includes a database to manage the overall IDI process. It is expected that all individuals participating in any level of IDI will be active members of the extranet. If you are participating in the IDI process at any level, and are not on the IDI extranet, please send an email to idiextranet@postidi.com The subject of the email should be "IDI extranet request." Please include your name, your status in IDI process (which level . . . where and when) and basic contact information.

The IDI extranet "LOGON" page. When you receive your invitation you will be taken to a new member page and asked to populate the database with specific information. At this point you will be a "GUEST" and have limited priviledges. The database administrator will be sent an email that you have logged on and they can then change you to a full member with all priviledges.

The calendar can be used to share events with members such as classes, the Instructor Symposium, etc.

The extranet contact list. The graphic to the right is purposely blurred so the names and contact information cannot be read (this web site is an open site; all information on it is available to the general public while the extranet is secure and password protected). The extranet contact list includes sensitive information that requires protection. A typical contact list entry (represented by the highlighted graphic on the right) includes:.

  • Name
  • Agency
  • Contact information
  • Area of concentration (Level 3 and 4 students)
  • Areas where you are a potential resource for others
  • Status in the IDI process
  • Courses you teach
  • More , , , (personal contact information that is available only to administrators)

This is the file sharing functionality of the IDI extranet. Administrators will add various documents (templates for lesson plans, job aids, PowerPoints on learning objectives, etc). Once you have full privileges (you originally sign on as a guest- administrators will change you status after you have filled in the required data) you will be capable of adding files to the various folders and downloading files in the File Library. Contact the Administrator if you desire to add additional folders.
